This last week, The Impossible Project opened up a new showing entitled “Outside the Lines” in their New York space, and I was fortunate enough to be asked to participate along with 13 other talented instant photographers.
Below are my favorites from what I was able to capture in the course of events. I was given four packs of 680 Color Shade film to use and I blew through the first just trying to get a hang for how it behaves. Surprising as it may seem, this was actually my first time shooting with Impossible stock ever. As you can see from the prolific emulsion divots, I have a bit to go before I can start calling myself a master.
All in all, it was awesome to use the stuff and I really enjoy the quirkiness of the color.
Really, though, it was such an honor to be involved. I love the mission of the Impossible Project. If you have some extra discretionary income, I highly recommend picking up a few packs of their film. It’s a bit of a learning curve, but put in the time and you won’t be disappointed.
Oh, and I’d love to send a very special thanks to Kisha at Impossible for being patient with my myriad emails. She’s a real peach.
The good looking folk below include my brother James, Amanda Uribe, Joy Kim, Kara Caldwell, Hillary Murphy, and Colie Parks.
